Beyonce Plant Base Diet

Try Beyoncé’s “Part-time” Plant-Based Diet

When Beyoncé’s Netflix documentary was released in April this year, it was revealed that she adopted a plant-based diet in order to get in shape for her Coachella performance. She had given birth to twins, Rumi & Sir, two years prior and was at her heaviest she’d been. Many assumed that Beyoncé went vegan. However, The New York Times interviewed Bey & Jay’s personal trainer, Marco Borges and he said, “Beyoncé eats ‘a plant-based’ — i.e. vegan — ‘breakfast daily’ and consumes no meat on Mondays. Jay-Z eats ‘two plant-based meals a day.”

From this, it was safe to say Beyoncé had adopted a “part-time” plant-based diet, which would be ideal for those of us who still love to eat a hamburger and fried chicken every now and then. Beyoncé has declared her love for Popeyes chicken, so we’re certain she wouldn’t stop eating that forever. If you’ve been looking for a new way to clean up your diet try these tips:

  1. Limit your alcohol intake
  2. Limit sugar & processed foods to once per week
  3. Meatless Mondays- No eating meat on Monday
  4. Eat a Vegan Breakfast
  5. Try plant-based recipes twice per week

There are many benefits to adopting a “part-time” plant-based diet. Studies have shown that by adopting a plant-based diet can lead to improvements in blood pressure, reductions in heart disease, and a lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes. A balanced diet means wide variety of foods, but real foods. Again, not hyper-processed foods, but real foods. Meat and dairy can be a part of that diet, but it should not be a part of that diet in the way that it is for most of us now, which is to say we eat a pound and a half or so of animal products every day on average, which is conservatively ten times as much as we need and ten times as much as is good for us.
