Treat Your Acne with African Black Soap

woman-closes-her-eyes-raising-her-right-hand-1666073Dealing with acne is tough. There are many products to choose from that dermatologists say will improve your skin, but that can be costly. Choosing one product out of the thousands there are is truly trial and error. From experience, there are only four products that my skin reacts well, too. These products are: African black soap, Apple Cider Vinegar, OLEHENRIKSEN The Clean Truth Foaming Cleanser/OLEHENRIKSEN Pore-Balance Facial Sauna Scrub & SheaMoisture African Black Soap Balancing Moisturizer.

I have a combination of oily and dry skin, so products that are geared toward that skin type resonate well with me. If you want to explore the foaming cleanser, scrub and facial moisturizer they’re available at Sephora, Target and Amazon (I added the links above). I want to dive into African Black Soap as it’s been heavily used to clear all skin types, such as sensitive, dry, oily, etc. African Black Soap has many antioxidants and vitamins A & E, which heals acne, eczema, psoriasis and fades skin discolorations. Other benefits of African Black Soap include:

  1. Soothing irritation
  2. Reduce fine lines
  3. Antifungal

African Black Soap is made of cocoa pods, coconut oil, palm tree leaf derivatives, plantain bark & shea butter. There are many places you can purchase African Black Soap, which are Target and the Beauty Supply store. If you’re feeling really organic you can travel overseas to purchase traditional African Black Soap from South Africa. Ultimately, there are many nutrients in the soap that are beneficial for your skin. It’s important to develop a consistent skin regime to allow your skin to adjust to the soap. Once you develop a routine and remain consistent, your skin will flourish!
