Christmas is hands down the Most Wonderful Time of the Year! There’s so much love and joy that surrounds the Holiday season. Giving and getting gifts have become a huge part of many Christmas traditions all over the world. Black Friday deals have now started on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and thanks to Amazon, Cyber Monday is a huge ordeal. With so much Holiday propaganda, it can be easy to get sucked into the idea that you have to buy gifts for everyone. This shouldn’t be the case!
No matter how much money you have, everyone in your family shouldn’t get a gift for Christmas. For example, your second cousins and aunts you haven’t spoke to since you were six years old shouldn’t be on your Christmas list. This doesn’t mean you don’t like them, but there’s no reason to go broke over Christmas especially if you have your own bills to pay.
Now, a smart way to get everyone in your family a gift, but still stay in budget is to buy small stocking stuffers from Dollar Tree or create your own Christmas card via Walgreens and mail those out. Both of these options will save you both time & money. Another good way to gift your family a gift for Christmas is to plan a family outing with them to a free Holiday event in the area. Google can help you find events to attend. Don’t go broke this Holiday season, it’s not worth it!
